Rostrum Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Rostrum (Google Play package com.marteye.rostrum), published on Google Play under the developer name Aaron Signorelli and operated by MARTEYE LIMITED (Irish company number 681144), trading as MartEye. In this policy, "MartEye", "we", "us" and "our" refer to MARTEYE LIMITED. Rostrum forms part of the MartEye platform.
Rostrum is an auction management and live broadcasting application intended for authorised auction staff and other approved business users. This policy explains how Rostrum accesses, collects, uses, shares and protects personal data.
1. Information Rostrum may collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, authentication details, MartEye user ID and information associated with your authorised MartEye account.
Auction and user-provided information
We process information you enter, upload or create while using Rostrum, including auction, sale and lot information, notes, search queries, images, video, audio and other user-generated content.
Camera and microphone
Rostrum requests permission to use your device camera and microphone when you use its live auction broadcasting features. Camera and microphone data is transmitted so that video and auctioneer audio can be delivered to the relevant auction service and its viewers. Live content may be recorded or retained where the relevant auction service is configured to make or keep a recording.
Technical, usage and diagnostic information
We may collect device and app identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, operating-system and app-version information, network status, app interactions, search activity, crash reports, diagnostic information and performance information. Rostrum does not request access to your device's precise location.
2. How we use information
We use personal data to:
• authenticate users and manage authorised access;
• provide auction management, live video and audio streaming, bidding and related MartEye services;
• display content to the relevant auction business, staff and viewers;
• maintain, secure and improve Rostrum and the MartEye platform;
• provide support and communicate about the service;
• understand app usage, diagnose faults and prevent misuse or fraud; and
• comply with legal, regulatory, accounting and contractual obligations.
We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you or the organisation that authorises your access, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, with your consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing of information
We may share information:
• with the auction business or organisation through which you use Rostrum and with authorised users of that service;
• with viewers or participants where information, video or audio forms part of a live or recorded auction;
• with service providers that support authentication, cloud hosting, databases, analytics, crash reporting, content delivery, communications and video or audio streaming, including Google Firebase;
• with professional advisers, insurers, auditors, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or courts where required; and
• in connection with a business reorganisation, merger or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Service providers may process personal data only for the services they provide to us and are required to protect it. We do not sell personal data.
4. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections.
5. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide Rostrum and the MartEye services, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and the relevant auction service. When information is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against accidental loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. No internet or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal data, object to certain processing, request portability, withdraw consent and complain to a supervisory authority.

You can also contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
You may control camera and microphone access through your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the relevant broadcasting feature from working.
8. Children
Rostrum is a professional application intended for users aged 18 or over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through Rostrum.
9. Third-party services
Rostrum may contain links to, or interact with, third-party services. Their handling of personal data is governed by their own privacy policies where they act independently of MartEye.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to Rostrum, our practices or legal requirements. We will publish the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
